Una Vez mas compartiendo música, y hoy le toca el turno a un programa por el que guardo muy gratos recuerdos, el "Essential Mix", programa producido por BBC Radio 1 y conducido por una leyenda de la música electrónica, Pete Tong. Durante mas de 20 años este show semanal se a consolidado como uno de los mejores pues en el podemos disfrutar de mixes grabados en vivo por los mejores dj's del mundo, y con una fonoteca inaugurada en 1993 hay mucho material de donde escoger, por eso solo voy a postear unos cuantos que para mi son mis favoritos, espero les gusten.
Once again sharing some music, and today's turn goes for a show wich I kept very good memories about, "Essential Mix", show produced by BBC Raio 1 and hosted by the electronic music legend Pete Tong. For over 20 years this weekly show has become one of the best around, mostly because we have the chance of hearing live mixes from the best DJ's in the world, and with a library that dates back to 1993 there is plenty of material to choose, that's why today I am going to post some of my personal favorites, hope you like it.

1995 fue un gran año, windows comenzaba a imponerse como el monopolio que hoy conocemos, y el internet se hacia accesible a todas las personas con una pc, y a un año de su primer album de estudio un joven de ascendencia Dominicana y con un gran sentido del ritmo recibía el llamado de Essential mix, otras cuatro ocasiones se repitió su asistencia, pero nada comparable a este debut.
1995 was a great year, windows was beginning to impose as the monopoly that we now today, internet became accessible to all people with a PC, and just after a year his first studio album was released a young man of Dominican Descent and a great taste in music got the call of essential mix, other four times he repeated this feat, but his debut was the best.

Voy a ser sincero, a finales de los 90´s y principios de los 2000's hubo un cambio radical en mi gusto musical, ¿Por que?, bueno canales musicales y estaciones de radio bombardeaban a todos con repeticiones infinitas de Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Backstreetboys, blink 182 y esa clase de mariconadas, por lo tanto el pop había muerto, el rock se acabo para mi en 1998 con el Garage inc. de Metallica y buena parte de le que siguió a The Smashing Pumpkins después de Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness fué pura basura, por lo tanto había un hueco en mi corazón que debía ser llenado, afortunadamente el Brit pop, al cual ya le dí una sección en el blog y la música electronica llegaron al rescate, nombres como Tiesto. Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox y Ferry Corsten se volvían familiares, y el trance encontró su nivel mas alto desde el 2000 al 2005, y entre esas joyas auditivas esta este essential mix.
I'm, going to be straight on this, at the end of the 90's and beginning of the 2000's there was a whole turn on my music preferences, Why?, well, music channels and radio stations were bombarding everybody with countless repetitions of the likes of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, backstreet boys. blink 182, and all that kind of queer stuff, so pop was dead, rock ended for me by 1998 when Metallica released Garage Inc. and all that came after Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness of The Smashing Pumpkins was crap, so there was a hole in my hear that has to be filled, fortunately Brit pop wich already had a post on the blog and electronic music came to the rescue, names like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox and Ferry Corsten became familiar, and Trance music had its peak between 2000 and 2005, and among those musical gems you can hear this one.

Votado como el mejor esential mix de todos en el año 2000, la calidad de Oakenfold nunca se discute pero en este set llega a su máximo a la hora de mezclar, por primera vez los fans de la musica electronica tienen la oprtunidad de escuchar lo que en 1994 era solo una leyenda, el Goa Trance; aquel que es capaz de llevar a los escuchas a experimentar un estado de trascendencia colectiva como si de un trance shamanico se tratase a travez de ritmos y melodias hypnoticas; una recomendación del editor para obtener todo el poder de este mix seria un poco de hierba y un par de tragos XD.

He aqui a un maestro de la vieja escuela, mezclas clásicas sacadas de los mas reconditos escondrijos de quien sabe donde, ritmos que pasan del soul al jazz, atravezando el funk y el gospel, solo una palabra puede definir a este sujeto, genio.
Here is a real master of the old school, mixes made from classic tracks taken out from the most hidden places from who knows where, rhythms that go from soul to jazz, across funk and gospel, only one word can describe this guy, genius.

El house parece ser un estilo que no muere, se renueva con cada año que pasa y nuevas estrellas aparecen para darle brillo, uno de sus mejores exponenentes es sin duda Dimitri From Paris, mezclando tracks clasicos del disco con ritmos nuevos de hip hop e incluso samples extraidos de peliculas de culto, el estilo de Dimitri es lo mas refinado hablando de cualquier estilo musical; pero a diferencia de otros dj's Dimitri tuvo que esperar 14 años para repetir en essential mix, pero valió la pena.
House music seems to be an immortal style, it renews every year and new stars make it shine, one of the best performers is without a doubt Dimitri from Paris, mixing classic tracks from the disco era with new hip hop rhythms and even samples ripped from cult movies;Dimitri's style is the most refined speaking of any music genre, but despite this he had to wait 14 years to repeat on the essential mix, but it worth it.

Actualmente si alguien menciona un nuevo sencillo de este sujeto me puedo molestar bastante, no es posible como puede la misma persona que hizo esta genialidad de mix haber hecho algo como esto ; por eso me quedo con sus primeros discos y sencillos, como sea en este essential mix nos muestra como en algun momento de su vida fué uno de los mejores exponentes del house a nivel mundial, no es lo mismo decirle a alguien "Puedes hacer algo mejor", a decirle "Tu hiciste cosas mejores". :(
Nowadays if someone mentions a new single from this fellow I can get easily upset, it is not possible that the same person that made this great mix its the same that also made this; that is why I prefer his first albums and singles, anyways this essential mix show us how there was a moment in his life when he was one of the best in house music all over the world, it is not the same to say someone "You can do better" rather than "You did better". :(

Essential mix por años ha sido el escaparate para muchos dj's y productores, en mi caso la primera vez con muchos de ellos fué a travéz de este programa, y de vez en cuando llegan sujetos que cambian las reglas, ya sea Flyiig lotus o Nicolas Jaar, o en este caso Daniel Pearce mejor conocido como Eats everything, sus mezclas son un eterno recordatorio de como nunca hay que decir que hemos escuchado todo.
Essential mix has become for years the showcase for many DJ's and producers, in my case the first time with many of them was because of this show, and once in a while some guys change the rules, could be Flying Lotus or Nicolas Jaar, or like this time Daniel Pearce better known as Eats Everything, his mixes are an eternal reminder of how you should never say We already hear all.

A finales de los 90's la música electronica estaba lista para dejar atrás el eurodance y nuevas estrellas comenzaban a sonar en todas partes, pero nada como la ola frnacesa que nos trajo a Dimitri From Paris, Bob Sinclar o Benjamin Diamond, claro todos liderados por un par de genios con aspecto de robots y que con el tiempo se convertirian en autenticas leyendas Daft Punk, Essential mix les dio la oportunidad de grabar uno de sus shows y nunca regresaron, se volvieron inalcanzables.
At the end of the 90's electronic music was ready to leave behind euro dance and new rising stars started to be heard everywhere, but nothing compared with the french wave that brings us Dimitri From Paris, Bono Sinclar or Benjamin Diamond, of course, all of them lead by a couple of genius with robot look and whom with time will become legends Daft punk, essential mix gives them the chance to record one of their shows and they will never come back, they became unreachable.

Pocos dj's en el mundo pueden presumir lo que este señor, considerado el primer mejor dj del mundo por las revistas especializadas, mas de 30 años en la escena y tantos premios que seria imposible contarlos, un invitado recurrente de essential mix e incluso tiene su propio show semanal "Global", pero todo esto palidece ante un hecho que para mi es el más importante, su calidad nunca ha disminuido, siempre al maximo de su estilo techno, ¿que tan bueno es?, este mix lo escogí al azar y aun asi es genial, Gracias señor Cox, gracias.
Few DJ's in the world can show off what this man can awarded as the very first best DJ of the world by the specialized press, over 30 years on the stage and too many prizes that could be impossible to count, a recurrent guest on essential mix and even has his own weekly show "Global", but all this is nothing facing one single fact that by the way is to me the most important, his quality has never lowered, always at the top of his techno style, How good is he?, well this mix was chosen at random even that way is great.Thanks, Mr Cox,Thanks.

Y como dicen lo mejor para el final, es interesante como algunas personas pueden estar por debajo del radar durante tanto tiempo, incluso al dia de hoy muy pocas personas saben de estos sujetos, y es sorprendente considerando lo buenos que son, por que maldición si que son buenos, el día que grabaron este essential mix las estrellas se alinearon, o tal vez fumaron de un material muy bueno por que durante dos horas estos bastardos hacen que cualquiera mueva el trasero con algunos de los ritmos mas funkys que hay, con mezclas de rock de los 70's, sencillos de musica disco, rock indie, rap,pop, The Beatles, Alan Parsons project, y la lista sigue y sigue, todo aderezado con ruidos de un teclado casio a 128 beats por minuto: la primera vez que escuche este show mis oidos perdieron la virginidad, y me gustó, el mundo nunca sería el mismo, y si alguna vez saco una espina del trasero del Papa y este me concediera un deseo sería regresar en el tiempo y que me enviara al dia y lugar donde se grabo esta joya.
And like they always say, the best for the very end, it is interesting how some people can go undetected for so long, even today very few people knows about this guys, ans it s suprising considering how good they are, because damn they're good, the day this was recorded stars aligned, or maybe they smoke high quality weed because for two hours these bastardsmake anyone to shake the ass with some of the most funky tunes, with mixes from the 70's rock, disco music, indie rock, rap, pop, the Beatles, Alan Parsons project, and the list goes on and on, all this with a dressing of noises taken out from a Casio keyboard at 128 beats per minute; the first time I heard this show my ears lost their virginity, and I like it, the world has never been the same again. and if by chace I take out a thorn from the Pope's ass and grant me a wish it will be to go back in time and be sent to the day and place where this jewel was recorded.
